Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly established in the year 2000 as per the provision under the constitution as a Ist Legislative Assembly. Initially the Library was a part of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha due to the division of state in the year 2000 some part of the Library was thereafter transferred to the control of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.

In the constitution of Chhattisgarh Assembly 2000 it known as Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Library. The aim of the library is to disseminate knowledge on the various aspects to the members of this library it also provides references and important clippings (zerox) to the honourarable members of the Assembly as well as other library members as per the dimands.

The Library has a collection of over 20,000 books and reports and it subscribes 11 magazines, 91 journals and 18 News papers. Over 15 magazines are receiving as gratis in this library.
